Showers of Spring

Shaking the thunder from the skies ,
The rain came down ,
Grass greening ,
Flowers blooming ,
Birds returning ,
With all its splendours,
Change is beautiful

My Super Dad: A Journey of Love, Strength, and Sacrifice

བཀའ་དྲིན་ཅན་གྱི་ཕ་མ་རྣམ་གཉིས།

My Parents have always been my greatest source of inspiration. Though we are separated by miles, our conversations about spirituality, simplicity, happiness, impermanence, contentment, and detachment keep me deeply connected to them. I am forever grateful for their wisdom and guidance.

I am reminded of a profound quote by the great yogi Milarepa: "The affairs of the world will go on forever. Do not delay the practice of meditation." This wisdom resonates deeply with me, especially now.

Dear Apa,

I am profoundly moved by your genuine compassion and your journey toward forgiveness through the noble path of humility. It feels like the right moment for this transformative action, and I believe that with time, it will bring you greater peace of mind. As you delve more into prayer and gradually step away from the mundane tasks of farming, I reflect on the incredible struggles you've shared with me through your stories.

I recall the challenges you faced—leaving your spiritual practice at Bumdra, marrying Aum Lhadey, raising eight children, and building and renovating a grand traditional house. I remember you laboriously fetching wooden shingles from Choechoetse, transporting mithuns from Tsento and bulls from Haa, and crossing Sagala and Chelela on foot for paddy transplantation. Your dedication to managing our large ancestral home and caring for the elderly was unmatched.

You journeyed to Phari for blue pants and HMT watches, braving rivers, mountains, and sleeping in caves or under trees, enduring snow and the threat of army patrols. Despite these hardships, you never once complained. Your strength, bravery, and unwavering commitment have always been a source of admiration for me.

I pray for your continued good health, happiness, and profound inner peace. May your retreat be successful and fulfilling. I love you deeply!

A heartfelt thank you to Brother Karma Chogyal and all our siblings for helping to make this humble dream a reality!

With all my love and gratitude,

Tashi

My boy’s dental check -Reminiscing my good old days !

I remember the year 1993,as a child back in Shengana Primary School,Punakha. On his Bajaj Chetak Scooter,my brother took me all the way to Wangdiphordang Dental clinic. It took us about 2 hours on that farm road to reach Wangdi from Shengana. The dentist gently pulled my tooth with the help of an anesthetic.
My brother treated me an ice cream and a krack jack biscuit afterwards.
